That’s why we’ve launched our fresh meat processing school, the first of its kind in South Africa. The school delivers a 10-month programme to candidates with the aim of uplifting local communities through skills development – and servicing independent and franchise butchers at the same time.
The programme covers theory and practice. Theory-based learning is taught at our premises, and teaches students how to run a lucrative meat business. Modules include quality management, manufacturing processed meat products, and meat processing and safety practices.
Practical experience is gained at our customers’ butcheries, offering students the opportunity to network as they prepare to begin their careers.
The syllabus is accredited by the FoodBev SETA. In June 2017, 17 young and passionate learners will receive their NQF Level Three National Certificate in Fresh Meat Processing.
